# Mawsim: full site content

> Mawsim (موسم, Arabic for "season") is a free, self-hosted WordPress/WooCommerce plugin by Halawa.io that finds the sales opportunities which can get a store to its goal. It measures goals against a shaped, season-aware pace built from the store's own order history, and ranks the upcoming commercial occasions for the store's country by what that store actually earned during each window last year.

## Key facts

- Free, GPLv2-or-later licensed WordPress plugin. No SaaS, no subscription, no Mawsim account.
- All sales data (goals, forecasts, pace, occasion history) is computed and stored in the merchant's own WordPress database. Nothing about orders, customers, revenue or products is ever transmitted.
- The occasion calendar comes from an opt-in service at api.mawsim.store. When enabled, scheduled background requests send exactly five fields: site address, admin email, store country, store name, store industry. Opt-in happens on step 1 of setup and can be turned off or disconnected at any time in Settings; disconnecting asks the service to delete its record.
- Requirements: WordPress 7.0+, PHP 7.4+, WooCommerce 10.8+. HPOS-ready, multisite-compatible, translation-ready.
- Core features: sales goals with shaped pace (expected(t) = target x S(t), where S(t) is the shape of the season), a marketing occasion calendar sorted by proximity with prep lead times, per-occasion history and expected impact from the store's own last year, wp-admin dashboard widgets, and stock-awareness suggestions.

## Support

Contact: support@mawsim.store. Helpful details to include: WordPress, WooCommerce and Mawsim versions, what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. Never send passwords or customer data.

### The calendar is not updating

First check Settings under Your marketing calendar: calendar updates must be on, and the screen shows the result of the last sync. Requests run from a scheduled background task, so give it a day before assuming something is wrong.

If your server sits behind a firewall that blocks outgoing requests, allow api.mawsim.store. The plugin keeps working with the calendar it already has either way.

### It says my site address is already registered

One registration exists per site address. This usually means a previous installation, a staging copy or a migrated site registered first. Disconnect from the old installation if you still have it; if you do not, write to us and we will release the address so your store can register again.

### I disconnected but the service could not be reached

The disconnect always takes effect on your site first, so no further requests are sent regardless. If the deletion request did not reach us, the screen says so; addresses that stay silent are released after roughly 90 days and deleted after 12 months. Write to us if you want the deletion done, and confirmed, right away.

### How do I remove all Mawsim data from my database?

Uninstalling keeps your goals and history by default, so nothing is lost by accident. To remove everything, define the MAWSIM_REMOVE_ALL_DATA constant as true in wp-config.php before deleting the plugin.

### Which versions does Mawsim need?

WordPress 7.0 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer, and WooCommerce 10.8 or newer. It is HPOS-ready and works on multisite.

## Privacy policy

Last updated: August 2026. Canonical: https://mawsim.store/privacy

### Your data stays on your server

Mawsim is a self-hosted WooCommerce plugin. Goals, forecasts, pace and occasion history are calculated and stored inside your own WordPress database. We do not receive, copy or host your sales data.

There is no Mawsim account and no cloud dashboard. Reminder emails are sent by your own site through WordPress, not by us.

### The calendar service is opt-in

The occasion calendar comes from our service at api.mawsim.store, and nothing is sent there until you turn it on. Step 1 of the setup wizard shows a checkbox with the exact list of what would be sent. Untick it, press Skip, or never open setup at all, and no request ever leaves your store.

You can turn the service off at any time in Settings under Your marketing calendar. From that moment no further requests are made.

### What a calendar request contains

Each request sends five things: your site address, the admin email, the store country, the store name and the store industry. Requests identify themselves with the plugin name and version and carry no other identifier.

Requests run from a scheduled background task, never during a page load, and never include orders, customers, revenue or products.

### What our service keeps, and for how long

The service keeps one record per registered store: the five fields above, a registration token (stored only as a hash) and the date your store last checked in.

If your store stops checking in, the record does not live forever. After roughly 90 days of silence your site address is released so it can register again, and after 12 months the record is deleted entirely.

### Disconnecting

Settings includes a Disconnect from the calendar service button. It stops all requests and asks our service to delete its record of your store. The disconnect takes effect on your site first, so it works even if our service cannot be reached at that moment.

Your goals, results, occasion history and the calendar you already have all stay in your own database. If you uninstall without disconnecting, the service's record remains until the 12-month retention window removes it.

### What we never collect

Customer names, emails, addresses or payment details. Order contents or revenue figures. Product catalogs. Admin credentials. Mawsim has no telemetry and no background tracking.

### Cookies

The plugin does not set cookies on your storefront. This marketing website uses only what is strictly necessary to serve the page.

### Your rights

The data on your server is yours: you can disconnect, export or delete it whenever you like. Uninstalling the plugin keeps your local Mawsim data by default; define the MAWSIM_REMOVE_ALL_DATA constant before uninstalling to remove it completely.

For the service's copy, the disconnect button is the deletion request. If it could not reach us, or you want written confirmation, contact us and we will confirm the deletion.

## Terms of service

Last updated: August 2026. Canonical: https://mawsim.store/terms

### What these terms cover

These terms cover two things: the Mawsim plugin, which runs on your own WordPress site, and the occasion calendar service at api.mawsim.store, which the plugin talks to only if you opt in. Both are made by Halawa.io.

By installing the plugin or turning on the calendar service you agree to these terms.

### The plugin is yours to run

Mawsim is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. You may use, study, modify and redistribute it under that license.

The plugin runs entirely on your own infrastructure. You are responsible for your site, its hosting, its backups and its compliance with the laws that apply to your store.

### The calendar service

The calendar service is optional and free. It registers your store and returns the occasion calendar for your country, refreshed by a scheduled background task.

We provide it on a best-effort basis. We may rate-limit requests, change the service, or suspend or discontinue it. The plugin is built to survive that: if the service is unreachable, everything keeps working with the calendar your store already has.

### Registration

One registration exists per site address. The service issues your store a token that proves later requests come from the same store; the token lives on your server and should stay there.

If a site address is already registered to another installation, the service will say so and the existing registration stays in place until it is disconnected or released. Registrations that go silent are released and eventually deleted, as described in the privacy policy.

### Acceptable use

Do not send the service requests outside the plugin's normal operation, attempt to circumvent its rate limits, register site addresses you do not control, or use it to disrupt the service for others.

We may refuse or remove registrations that break these rules.

### Forecasts are estimates

Goals, shaped pace, expected impact and every other forward-looking number Mawsim shows are estimates computed from your own store's history. They are informational, not a guarantee of revenue and not financial advice. Business decisions you make based on them are yours.

### Data

What the plugin sends, what the service stores and for how long, and how to have it deleted are all set out in the privacy policy. It is part of these terms.

### No warranty

The plugin and the service are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. This is the same footing the GPL puts the plugin on.

### Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Halawa.io is not liable for lost revenue, lost data or other indirect damages arising from the use of the plugin or the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service, which is zero.

### Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version always lives at this address, and the date below tells you when it last changed. Using the plugin or the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
